Graphic Arts for Beginners (teens & adults) Choose one session

During this class, students acquire new skills on the Mac, including use of the InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator programs. Learn how to set up a page, add text, color, shapes and borders. Take a drawing (perhaps created by the student) and see how scanning and colorizing this artwork will take it to a whole new level. This is the perfect class for teens interested in the visual arts and technology.

Graphic Arts - Intermediate/Advanced Level (teens & adults) Choose one sessionsession
Individuals must have completed the beginner level course before enrolling in this course or must have prior instructor approval.

Know the basics of a Mac, but looking to advance your skills? Gain an understanding of the components of good design in this class. Learn how to manipulate type, add effects and find out how to form shapes and modify type. While acquiring new skills and techniques, students also work on the creation of an artistic product (project to be determined by the class).

I Am An Artist (ages 2-1/2 - 4 with accompanying adult) Choose one session.
Explore a variety of art media with your child. Class includes painting, drawing, printmaking, clay and paper construction. Dress for mess and come for fun!

The Creative Caterpillar - The World of Eric Carle (ages 3-5 with accompanying adult)
Does your child love Eric Carle books like "The Very Hungry Caterpillar?" Do you love the art in Carle’s books? This class combines them both! Each class begins with the reading of an Eric Carle book. Then children and adults explore the mediums, colors and styles of Carle's art.

Dress for Mess (ages 3-5 with accompanying adult)
Just as the title says, "dress for mess" and come for fun! This class is designed to immerse you and your child in a multitude of artistic mediums; paints, pastels, chalks and more. The process of art-making is valued over product.

Paint Pizzazz (ages 3-6)
Does your child love to paint? Dress them for mess and they can paint like crazy! Children experience the joy of colors, textures and different styles of painting using tempera, acrylics, watercolors and more.

Preschool Clay (ages 4-6) Choose one session.
In the class students learn to make pinch pots and form their very own drinking mugs and other fun objects from clay. Clay fee is included in tuition.

Ceramics - Hands-On Clay I (ages 6-8)
Student imagination is encouraged through learning three methods of hand-building in clay. Master the art of slab, coil and pinch pot building. Clay fee is included in tuition.

Ceramics - Fantastic Clay I (ages 6-8)
Using the basic hand-building techniques, students explore functional and sculptural forms. Emphasis is placed on creativity. Clay fee is included in tuition.

Afterschool Arts & Culture Club (ages 6-9)
Does your child love the visual arts? Then this afternoon art class is for them. They will learn about a variety of artists, explore a variety of mediums and discover art from cultures around the world. Class culminates with a reception for family and friends where students share their creations and explorations.

3-D Art Studio (ages 6-9)
Student imagination is encouraged by creating 3-D projects in paper, clay, plastic, wood, wire and more.

Creative Drawing & Painting (ages 6-9)
Got a creative kid? In this class students learn the basics of drawing and painting through several unique and inventive projects. Observation and imagination skills are used to develop students’ technical and creative skills.

Drawing for Kids (ages 6-9)
Drawing is the foundation of visual expression and learning to draw what you see is the first step. This structured class teaches basic drawing skills. Students work from still life, models, photographs and the great outdoors. Learn how to plan, position, proportion and practice line and shading techniques. Experiment with multiple media such as pencil, charcoal and more.

Anything on Paper (ages 6-9)
You can create ANYTHING on paper! Students explore drawing and painting through a variety of media such as pencils, pen & ink, pastels, crayons, watercolors and collage.

In the Style Of.. (ages 9-11)
Learn about the great known and "not-so-known" masters of the visual arts. Experience art-making using methods inspired by these artists. Exhibit your finished art for family and friends. Then take home a CD with images of your creations!

Use polymer clay, paper pulp and painted fabrics to create some really cool stuff in this fun class.

Comic Book Creation! (ages 9-13)
Love comic books? Love to draw? You’ll LOVE this class! Students work from concept to final product, learning how to create their own characters and settings and understanding how these components work together with size, proportion, props and body language to produce a variety of personalities. Students receive a bound copy of their own comic book at the end of class!

Creative Painting & Drawing II (ages 10-14)
Do you love to create? Then this class is for you! Learn the basics of drawing and painting to create several unique and inventive projects. Use your observation and imagination skills to develop your technical and creative skills.

Look What I Made! (ages 10-14)
Bring your imagination and create a multitude of colorful projects including felt drawstring bags, sculpy boxes, knitted headbands, beaded mirrors, night lights and clocks. All supplies included. This 8 week class begins September 11 thru October 30.

Ceramics - Fantastic Wheel (ages 10-14) Choose one session
Want to take a spin on a pottery wheel? If you have previous experience in ceramics, you will love this class which provides the opportunity for you to create a multitude of artworks on the wheel. Clay fee is included in tuition. Maximum class size is 8. !

Cafe 38660 - Experimental Art Studio for Teens (ages 12-17)
Calling all teens! Explore the cutting-edge world of contemporary art with your peers in this cafe-style studio class. "Barrista" Jeanne Grossetti (local artist and curator of contemporary art) will serve up freshly brewed projects that blend photo, video, new media and site-specific installation, with a shot of the written/spoken word. Previous experience is not necessary - just an open mind! The cafe opens on September 1.

Teen Art Studio (ages 13-18)
Students pursue individual direction using basic techniques of drawing, painting and more. Instructor assists students with reaching their goals. A great way to build a portfolio!

Make Your Own Journals & Scrapbooks (teens & adults)
Do you enjoy scrapbooking? You’ll love this class! Discover many styles of bound books using fabrics, recycled materials, gems, cut paper and printmaking techniques to personalize your photos and memories. Learn how to make your own rubber stamps! Save a bundle and skip buying all those stickers and make your own accessories for page decorations. Enjoy these creations yourself or give them as a personalized gift to friends and family! Class begins September 11 thru October 30.

Funky Dolls & Stuffed Toys (teens & adults)
Come make GREAT gifts for the holidays and be the coolest gift-giver ever! All you need is a little patience. This class requires very basic hand sewing. Make your kids/friends/relatives their own cuddly friends. Make accessories too! All supplies included in tuition.
Class begins September 11 thru October 30.

Portrait Painting (adult & high school seniors) Prerequisite: Previous drawing experience and painting skills.
This is an advanced class that is perfect for the person who wants to learn how to capture a likeness on canvas using oils. Students sharpen their powers of observation, progress individually and develop their unique talents to a higher level of competence. Tuition includes model fee. Class begins August 30 thru November 1.

Ceramics (adult & high school seniors) Choose one session.
Basic and advanced techniques of hand-building, wheel-throwing and glaze application are taught in this class. Students are encouraged to develop individual pursuits in clay. Instructor assists students with reaching their goals.

Drawing for Teens & Adults (ages 16 and up)
Drawing is the foundation of visual expression and learning to draw what you see is the first step. This structured class teaches basic drawing skills, working from still lifes, models and photographs. Students focus on learning how to plan, position, proportion and practice line and shading techniques. Experiment with multiple media such as pencil, charcoal, paints and any more. Attain a broader understanding of how light and shadows define 3-dimentional objects and how to place them in an atmosphere. Experimentation is encouraged. Class tuition includes model fee. Class begins November 15 thru January 17.

Clay Studio (adult)
Hey, adult ceramics students! Need a longer session in the studio? Learn basic and advanced techniques of hand-building, wheel-throwing and glaze application. Instructor assists students with developing their individual goals.
