So you want to learn more about graphic design? Come see what it's really all about! Students in this class are presented with a range of relevant design topics, and use software titles such as Adobe Photoshop® and InDesign®! Whether you have experience in digital art or are simply interested in building your skills, this class is for you. Come just to learn the basics or come to experiment with cutting edge techniques. Learn how to design documents, integrate photography and create your own personal project or one for your professional portfolio. Feel free to bring your digital photos, CDs, camera, and ideas! You will also want to bring a notebook and writing utensil to take notes. Plenty of individualized instruction will take your idea from concept to completion while you learn something new.

Art Tales for Tots! (ages 3-5 with parent/caregiver)

Do you love children's books? Ever notice the famous paintings in books like "Olivia" by Ian Falconer? Come learn with your child about these wonderful pieces of art! Each class will include a reading of a book and then an exploration of the medium used to create these pieces.

Paint Pizzazz (ages 4-6)

Does your child love to paint! Dress them for mess and they can paint like crazy! Children experience the joy of colors, textures and different styles of painting using tempera, acrylics, watercolors and more.

Student imagination is encouraged through learning three methods of hand-building in clay. Master the art of slab, coil and pinch pot building. Clay fee is included in tuition.

Ceramics - Fantastic Clay I (ages 6-8)
Using the basic hand-building techniques, the students explore functional and sculptural forms. Emphasis is placed on creativity. Clay fee is included in tuition.

Afterschool Arts & Culture Club (ages 6-9)
Students discover a variety of artists, explore many mediums and art from cultures around the world. Class culminates with a reception for family and friends where students will share their creations and explorations.

3-D Art Studio (ages 6-9)
Students imagination is encouraged by creating 3-D projects in paper, clay, plastic, wood, wire and more.

Bring your imagination and come create a multitude of colorful projects including felt drawstring bags, sculpy boxes, knitted headbands, beaded mirrors, night lights and clocks. All supplies included. Class begins April 13 thru June 1, 2010.

You can create ANYTHING on paper! Students explore drawing and painting through a variety of media such as pencils, pen & ink, pastels, crayons, watercolor and collage.

In the Style Of... (ages 9-13)
Learn about great the known and "not-so-known" masters of the visual arts. Experience art-making using methods inspired by artists. Exhibit your finished art for family and friends. Take home a CD with images of your creations! Students may repeat course to explore different artists, styles and periods.

Love comic books? Love to draw? Come create your own comic book. Students work from concept to final product, learning how to create their own characters and settings and understanding how these components work together with size, proportion, props and body language to produce a variety of personalities. Students receive a bound copy of their own comic book at the end of class! Class begins February 6 thru March 27, 2010.

Come learn about influential and innovative sculptors while experiencing art-making using several methods of traditional and contemporary sculpture. Drawing is the foundation of visual expression and learning to draw what you see is the first step. This structured class teaches basic drawing skills, working from still lifes, models and photographs. Students focus on learning how to plan, position, proportion and practice line and shading techniques. Experiment with multiple media such as pencil, charcoal, paints and any more. Attain a broader understanding of how light and shadow defines 3-dimensional objects and how to place them in an atmosphere. Experimentation is encouraged. Class tuition includes model fee.

Tired of winter? Start thinking spring by creating art for your outdoor living space. Projects include stepping stories, sculptures, gazing balls, bird feeders, bird houses, garden markers, sun catchers and planters. Do you think you might be interested in a career in the visual arts? This class is for you! Learn how to apply to art programs; work on developing your portfolio and artist statement; explore career opportunities, and gain insight into the history of visual arts. At the end of the course, you will take home a digital portfolio of your best work to date. Class begins February 3 and ends May 26, 2010. No class March 31 and April 7, 2010.

Portrait Painting (adult & high school seniors)
This is an advanced class that is perfect for the person who wants to learn how to capture a likeness on canvas using oils. Students sharpen their powers of observation, progress individually and develop their unique talents to a higher level of competence. Tuition includes model fee.
