Desktop Publishing & Graphic Design (ages 13 & up) Basic knowledge of computers and desktop publishing software is a benefit in this class, but not necessarily critical to the student's success and enjoyment.

So you want to learn more about graphic design? Come see what it's really all about! Students in this class are presented with a range of relevant design topics, and use software titles such as Adobe Photoshop® and InDesign®! Whether you have experience in digital art or are simply interested in building on your skills, this class is for you. Come just to learn the basics or come to experiment with cutting edge techniques. Learn how to design documents, integrate photography and create your own personal project or one for your professional portfolio. Feel free to bring your digital photos, CDs, camera, and ideas! You may also want to bring a notebook and writing utensil to take notes. Plenty of individualized instruction will take your idea from concept to completion while you learn something new.

Hey, Diddle Diddle, Create Art a Little (ages 3-5)

Does your pre-schooler love it when you read nursery rhymes to them? If so, they will love this class where nursery rhymes become clever art projects. Children work with basic colors and shapes using paint, yarn, ink and paper to make fun creations. Songs and plays are also used. Each class ends with a "mini performance" for family and friends in the Main Gallery that incorporate the students' project of the day.

Paint Pizzazz (ages 4-6)

Elements of Art (ages 6-9)

Ever wonder how and where the great artists got their ideas and inspiration? Come find out! Create a variety of 2-D and 3-D art that has inspired imagination and famous artists' work from past and present. Have a blast as you learn about line, shape and color.

Animation Design (ages 12-18)

Do you love animation? During this hands-on course, students learn the basics of character design, storyboarding and plot development by designing their own characters and settings. Throughout the class, students learn how to create their own cast of characters for an imaginary television show or film.

Intro to Art School (ages 14 & up)

Learn what art school is all about. Using projects similar to those taught in today's leading art colleges, students work on their artistic techniques, vocabulary and understanding while getting an inside look at the art school experience. Create your own portfolio this summer!

Drawing for Teens & Adults (ages 16 & up)

Drawing is the foundation of visual expression and learning to draw what you see is the first step. This structured class teaches basic drawing skills, working from still life, models and photographs. Students focus on learning how to plan, position, proportion and practice line and shading techniques. Come experiment with multiple media such as pencil, charcoal, paints and any others. Attain a broader understanding of how light and shadow defines 3-dimensional objects and how to place them in an atmosphere. Experimentation is encouraged.

Mural Making (adults & teens)

Have you ever wanted to create a mural? Investigate what goes into designing a mural and then transfer that design into a large scale painting. Learn how to paint and finish a mural with the end result being a unique collaboration of everyone in the class. Gain firsthand knowledge creating a mural in your own home or for a business. The completed class project will be hung locally for all to see! Maximum class size is 8.

This is an advanced class that is perfect for the person who wants to learn how to capture a likeness on canvas using oils. Students sharpen their powers of observation, progress individually, and develop their unique talents to a higher level of competence. Tuition includes model fee.
