Preschool Art & Music (ages 3-5)
Introduce your preschooler to the fine arts through art and music. Hands-on activities awaken and develop your child's interest in creativity while supporting other developmental skills (listening, self-expression, fine motor skills). Class meets twice per week. Family and friends are invited to the Sharing Day performance the final day of class.

Desktop Publishing & Graphic Design (ages 13 to adult) Basic knowledge of computers and desktop publishing software is a benefit in this class, but not necessarily critical to the student's success and enjoyment.
So you want to learn more about graphic design? Come see what it's really all about! Students in this class are presented with a range of relevant design topics, and use software titles such as Adobe Photoshop¨ and InDesign¨! Whether you have experience in digital art or are simply interested in building on your skills, this class is for you. Come just to learn the basics or come to experiment with cutting edge techniques. Learn how to design documents, integrate photography and create your own personal project or one for your professional portfolio. Feel free to bring your digital photos, CDs, camera, and ideas! You may also want to bring a notebook and writing utensil to take notes. Plenty of individualized instruction will take your idea from concept to completion while you learn something new.
Two Experience Levels:
Level I - Novice - No experience required
Level II - Intermediate/Advanced - Some experience required

Hey, Diddle Diddle, Create Art a Little (ages 3-5)
Does your preschooler love it when you read nursery rhymes to them? If so, they will love this class, where nursery rhymes become clever art projects. Children work with basic colors and shapes using paint, yarn, ink and paper to make fun creations. Songs and plays are also used. Each class ends with a "mini performance" for family and friends in the Main Gallery that incorporates the students' project of the day.

Play in the Clay (ages 4-6)
In the class students learn to make pinch pots and form their very own drinking mugs and other fun objects from clay. Clay fee is included in tuition.

A Rainbow Full of Fairy Tales (ages 5-8)
More than a pot of gold can be found at the end of this rainbow! Come create colorful 2-D and 3-D art projects by bringing gingerbread people, Jack & the Beanstalk, Hansel & Gretel and other fairy tale characters to life. Students use a variety of art media including clay, paint, paper mache, chalk and a rainbow of other materials.

Crafts for Kids (ages 5-9)
Make and take a variety of craft projects! Each class session offers new exploration in the arts and a new craft activity. Bring your imagination to class and paint, paste, cut and glue your unique creative projects.

Ceramics - Hands On Clay I (ages 5-9)
Student imagination is encouraged in this class through learning three methods of hand-building in clay. Master the art of slab, coil and pinch pot building. Clay fee is included in tuition.

Ceramics - Fantastic Clay I (ages 5-9)
Using the basic hand-building techniques, students further explore functional and sculptural forms. Emphasis is placed on creativity. Clay fee is included in tuition.

Anything on Paper I (ages 6-9)
Students explore drawing and painting through a variety of media such as pencils, pen & ink, pastels, crayons, watercolor and collage.

Elements of Art (ages 6-9)
Create 2-D and 3-D works of art! Students explore famous artists' work from past and present to create unique items that focus on line, shape and color.

Paint Pizzazz (ages 7-10)
Do you love to paint? In this class you can paint like crazy. Students experience the joy of colors, textures and different styles of painting using temperas, acrylics, watercolors and more. Projects have seasonal themes so if you took this class before, you can improve your technique while creating all new projects.

Jewelry Making I (ages 7-14)
Create beautiful jewelry. During this 6-week course, you will create a bracelet, necklace and earrings. Students will need basic tools for this workshop. Bring your own or purchase a kit from the Customer Service Center. A tool list is also available if you wish to purchase them from a local craft store. Call 440-951-7500 for information. Workshop participants may bring their own jewelry making materials and/or purchase a basic kit (includes beads, stringing material, clasp etc.) from the instructor for $5 per kit on the first night of class.

Drawing from Your Imagination (ages 8-11)
Learn the basic ideas of composition, proportion and value. Bring a sketchbook for drawing a variety of scenes from your imagination. Students are encouraged to use and combine elements from the real world in order to create a variety of dramatic compositions.

Comic Book Creation! (ages 8-11)
Love comic books? Love to draw? Spend 6 weeks in the art studio creating your own comic book creation. Students work from concept to creation, learning how to create their own characters and settings and understanding how these components work together with size, proportion, props and body language to produce a variety of personalities.

Student Painting and Drawing (ages 8-12)
Basic drawing skills such as composition, perspective and color are the focus of this class. Class meets both indoors and outdoors, weather permitting. Subject matter includes landscape, still-life and creating works of art from imagination.

Cool Stuff (ages 9-12)
Come and discover the exciting world of "Cool Stuff." Students use polymer clay, paper pulp and painted fabrics to create some really cool stuff.

Young Rembrandts (ages 9-13)
Join us for a theme based class exploring various topics in art and using a variety of materials. Through drawing, painting and various mixed media, students create art with themes in animals, nature, emotions, work and play and more!

Anything on Paper II (ages 10-12)
The skills of observation and imagination are developed in this class through drawing and painting. Various media, including pencils, watercolors, pen & ink, pastels, crayons and collage are used.

Japination! (ages 10-13)
Love animation? Discover Japination! Students explore the concepts of Anime, Japanese animation, and work to produce their very own characters and stories.

Ceramics - Fantastic Wheel (ages 10-14)
Want to take a spin on a pottery wheel? This class is for you! If you have previous experience in ceramics, you will love this summer session which provides the opportunity for you to create a multitude of artworks on the wheel. Choose from two sessions! Clay fee is included in tuition.
Maximum Enrollment - 8 participants per session

Teen Clay Studio (ages 13-18)
Students pursue individual direction in clay using the basic techniques of hand-building, wheel-throwing and glaze application. The instructor assists students with reaching their goals. Clay fee is included in tuition.

Move Over, Picasso (ages 13-18)
This class will encourage students to create their own masterpieces using a variety of art media. Exploring some of the 'greats' like Van Gogh, Monet, Picasso, Nevelson, Pollock and more, students will apply learned technique to new creations! Drawing, painting, collage and sculpture will be explored.

The instructor assists students with reaching their goals. Choose Section A, B or C. Note: Section B is perfect for people who have busy evenings!

Portrait Painting (adults & high school seniors) Prerequisite: Previous drawing experience and painting skills.
This is an advanced class that is perfect for the person who wants to learn how to capture a likeness on canvas using oils. Students will sharpen their powers of observation, progress individually, and develop their unique talents to a higher level of competence. Tuition includes model fee.
