Artist Directory

The Fine Arts Association, Your Center for Arts Education AND Performance, has proudly housed all the arts under one roof since 1957. Our mission and our passion are to enhance lives through arts education, performance and advocacy. Through our Offsite Education Program, this Artist Directory makes the talent and performance experience of our faculty available to the community. Our faculty members are all accredited, professional teaching artists who pride themselves on their high standards of excellence. Please contact them directly at the phone numbers listed.

Acoustic Guitar, Singer, Songwriter

Denny Carleton, guitar instructor at The Fine Arts Association, has played in many local bands. His original music has received airplay on over 300 college and public radio stations in the U.S. and Canada . Denny continues to perform in coffeehouses, restaurants, festivals and churches. He hosts his own radio show on the Word 1220 AM radio every Saturday evening at 9:00 pm. He also heads Life Teen Music at Immaculate Conception Church in Willoughby every Sunday Mass at 5:30 pm. Musical entertainment for all occasions

Liz has a cello performance degree from the European Conservatory in Paris, France . She is a regular entertainer at the Cleveland Zoo and is active in several musical groups in the Cleveland area.

Judith H. Elias has a B.M.E. from Youngstown State University and has done graduate study at Kent State University . Her teachers have included Maurice Sharp, Raymond DeMattia and Walter Mayhall. She has been on the faculty of The Fine Arts Association since 1968 and is also on the faculty of Lake Erie College and Cuyahoga Community College, Eastern Campus. She is principal flutist with the Lakeland Civic Orchestra and is a frequent soloist with area churches and chamber ensembles.

A trained classical guitarist, Michael DiSanto has a Bachelor’s degree in Guitar Performance from Duquesne University . He has taken master classes with guitar pedagogue, Aaron Shocrer. Mr. DiSanto teaches guitar at the Fine Arts.

Mr. Guentner holds a Master of Music from The Juilliard School. He also has ten years orchestral playing in Europe. He has performed with the Cleveland Ohio Chamber Orchestra, Cleveland Ballet, Cleveland Opera, and Cleveland Pops.

Jazz Trio (John Clemens Trio)

John Kuegeler has a B.A. in Music with a concentration in Trumpet Performance from Kent State University . He is a former Artist-in-Residence at Cuyahoga Valley National Park and Young Audiences of Cleveland. He taught jazz history at Coconino Community College in Flagstaff, AZ, and was a Music Specialist for the Montessori Schools of Flagstaff . He has also taught at several music studios in northeast Ohio and performed extensively as a studio musician, in pit orchestras and with various ensembles throughout the United States .

Feroza LaBonne holds a Masters Degree in Music from CWRU-CIM. She enjoys performing a variety of styles to suit any occasion. Besides light classical, her range includes popular, movie music, oldies, Spanish, Italian, show tunes and some Jazz and blues.

Ms. Mattson is a professionally trained musician and music educator from Wittenberg University and Cleveland State University . She has sung in the Lakeland Civic Chorus as a soloist and chorus member for 16 years.

Receptions, parties and holiday celebrations

Ms. Messina is a classically trained pianist with a Bachelor of Music degree from Cleveland State University . She is currently pursuing graduate study at the Cleveland Institute of Music. Maryann has also studied with several local Jazz performers. She has been performing in groups and as a soloist in nightclubs, restaurants and private engagements for over 20 years.

French horn & Harp

Mr. Rapier holds a Bachelor of Music from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst . He is principal horn with Erie Philharmonic and Chamber Orchestra. Chris toured New England with the Metropolitan Brass Quartet. He has recorded with Edinboro Woodwind Quintet and the Heritage Brass Quintet.

 

$350 and up depending on instrumentation and location

Music suitable for weddings, receptions and parties

Ms. Rapier holds B.M. and M.M. degrees in Harp Performance from the University of Michigan School of Music. She is principal harpist for West Virginia Symphony and Erie Philharmonic Orchestras, and second harp for Opera Cleveland. Melody has been the contracted harpist at Quail Hollow Resort for 18 years and has entertained professionally for 35 years.

Christopher Vandall is a professional musician with performance degrees from The University of Akron and Hartt School of Music. The groups play light ballads to hard bob and anything in between.

 

Fees:

Trio: $225 first hour (1 set); $100 each additional hour

Quartet: $300 first hour; $125 each additional hour

Hanna Whitehead is a professional musician with a B.M. from Eastman School of Music and extensive performing experience with professional orchestras including the New World Symphony, Canton Symphony and Charleston Symphony.

Classically trained oboist Lisa Wilson, has a Music Education degree from Cleveland State University and currently plays with the Cleveland Philharmonic Orchestra and The Fine Arts Association Woodwind Quintet.
