Auditions notices for adult productions are sent out prior to each audition.

Audition notices for youth theatre productions are NOT mailed out but WILL appear in the newspapers listed to the right. Audition information flyers may also be picked up at The Fine Arts Association.

Auditions :

Saturday, September 11 — beginning at 4:00 pm in Corning Auditorium at The Fine Arts Association

Sunday, September 12 — beginning at 1:00 pm in Room 212 at The Fine Arts Association

 

Callbacks — by invitation only on Sunday, September 12 — beginning at 6:30 pm at The Fine Arts Association

 

Rehearsals begin:  Monday, October 18. Attendance at ALL tech week rehearsals as well as all performances is mandatory.

Production Dates: November 26 thru December 19, 2010 including 2 daytime school performances and double performances on Saturdays (2:00 pm & 7:30 pm)

 

Requirements:

By Appointment Only — Call Ann Hedger at 440-951-7500 x103 to schedule

-Come prepared with 2 short contrasting musical theatre selections. No pop/rock.

-Must bring sheet music in the proper key, 32 bars of music is sufficient.

-An accompanist will play for all auditioners.

-Headshots and resumes will be accepted at the audition.

 

Casting Information:

All roles are available.

Ages — Adults and Teenagers — 17 years and up

Children — 7 years and up

No Equity contracts are available for this production.

Fine Arts is committed to non-traditional casting. Actors will be cast solely on the basis of talent, except in cases where age, race or physical ability is essential to a role.

 

About the show:

Leapin' Lizards! The popular comic strip heroine takes center stage in one of the world's best-loved musicals. Annie is a spunky Depression-era orphan determined to find her parents, who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of a New York City Orphanage run by the cruel, embittered Miss Hannigan. In adventure after fun-filled adventure, Annie foils Miss Hannigan's evil machinations, befriends President Franklin Delano Roosevelt and finds a new family and home in billionaire Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary Grace Farrell and a lovable mutt named Sandy.

 

Roles available: (ages listed are 'character ages' not actor ages.)

 

The Orphans:

Annie — Child actor 9-12 years old with a strong belt, optimistic and 'spunky'.

Molly — The littlest to orphan — 7 years old

Kate — The next to littlest orphan — 8 years old

Tessie — The cry baby orphan — 10 years old.

Pepper — The toughest orphan — 12 years old

July — The quietest orphan — 13 years old

Duffy — The biggest orphan — 13 years old

 

The Adults:

Daddy Warbucks — Baritone, commanding stage presence.

Miss Hannigan — Character woman, alto with belt, comical

Rooster Hannigan — Bari-tenor, smooth, slick, moves well

Lily St. Regis — Over-the-top vamp, soprano, moves well.

Grace — Warbuck's secretary, organized, kind. Soprano.

Character Roles and Ensemble: — Play a variety of characters of all ages, types and vocal ranges such as FDR, his cabinet, mansion staff, radio show personalities and Hooverville residents.

Sing your heart out at the Great Lakes Mall for a chance to be selected to go directly to callbacks for the role of Annie

in The Fine Arts Association's production of Annie (November 26-December 10, 2010)

Fine Arts will audition actors who can play the role of the 9-12 year old orphan. Actor should have a strong voice and who is optimistic and "spunky."

Auditions for this role take place at the

Great Lakes Mall, Mentor, Ohio

Saturday, September 11, 2010 from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm

Director & Choreographer Pierre-Jacques Brault

will select actors from this audition to go to the callback phase

of the Annie casting process!

What actors need to prepare:

- 32-bar song in the style of Annie or a musical theatre standard. No Pop/Rock.

- accompanist will be available, if needed.

Callbacks on Sunday, September 12, 2010 are by invitation only beginning at 6:30 pm at The Fine Arts Association, 38660 Mentor Avenue , Willoughby.

The Fine Arts Association encourages NONTRADITIONAL CASTING for all productions.
