features an outstanding array of music presented by the distinguished Fine Arts faculty and guest artists.

All Kaleidoscope Concerts are Free and open to the Public

Winter Warm-Up Concert

Sunday, January 22, 2012-3:00 pm
Corning Auditorium at The Fine Arts Association

A family-friendly concert for families of all stages, ages, sizes welcome!

Join us at 2 pm for FREE fun pre-concert hands-on activities would be available the hour prior to the concert including an “instrument discovery” where you can try out instruments, mask making, a music therapy station, and refreshments.

The concert follows at 3 pm with a mix of classical and family-friendly repertoire.

Scheduled to perform are:

  • Marcia Farkas, Harp–“Tango” by Carlos Salzedo
  • Hayley Gagnon, Voice Student of Bob Godfrey-“14G” by Jeanine Tesori
  • Jessica Janaitis & Ellen Mann-“If You're Happy & You Know It” and “Jingle Bells”
  • Dr. Carol Linsenmeier, Violin, accompanied by Barbara Klonowski-“The Graceful Ghost Rag” by William Bolcum
  • Ken Hughes, Tuba accompanied by Jessica Janaitis-“The Elephant” by Saint Saens
  • Elizabeth Crowe, Cello & Marge Rutherford, Bassoon, & Erica Thompson, Percussion -“Rented Tuxedo” by Paul Klintworth, “Red River” (Folk Song) and “Saxety-phobia” by Randolph & Wiedeoft
  • Elliott Yoon, Piano Student of Feroza LaBonne-“Canon in D” by Pachelbel
  • David Black, Percussion-“O-M-G!”

 

The Fine Arts Association Community Choir

Sunday, March 18, 2012-4:00 pm
Painesville United Methodist Church

The chorus performs “Missa Brevis Sancti Joannis de Deo” and the “Te Deum” by Joseph Haydn including selections from the “Stabat Mater” by Karl J. Jenkins.

The Fine Arts Association invites all adults and high school students who love to sing to join the FAA Community Choir.

Rehearsals begin Friday, February 3, 2012 from 7:30 – 9:30 p.m. at The Fine Arts Association in Willoughby.  To join the choir or for more information, contact Phyllis Speirs at 216-486-5481 or mezzo1940@att.net.  Scores will be provided.

Sunday, May 13, 2012– 3:00 pm
Main Gallery at The Fine Arts Association

The sweetness of fine music and delightful pastry brought to you by The Fine Arts Association Woodwind Quintet. Performers include Judith Elias, flute; Lisa Wilson, oboe; Charles Baker, clarinet; Marjorie Rutherford on bassoon and guest hornist Robin Crawford.

Delectable desserts prepared by the performers will be served during intermission.
