Our theatre classes provide opportunities for growth and expansion throughout every age group (beginning at age 4) and talent level. Whether you want to be on Broadway or just be more comfortable in front of other people - our theatre classes are for you, providing skills that can be applied to every facet of your life. Princess Play! (ages 4-6)
Does your little one dream of being a princess? This class lets her act out her dream! During this beginning theatre class, each student plays one fairy tale princess, one fairy tale villain and supporting characters in each story. Class culminates with a Sharing Day performance for family and friends.

Page to Stage! (ages 4-6)
Each week this class immerses children in the art of theatre to bring a favorite storybook to life. The basics of theatre are taught as students act out a new book each week. Class culminates with a Sharing Day and "cast" party on the last day of class!

Theatre Arts Experience (ages 6-8) Choose one session.
Is your young 'performer' ready to take the stage? This class teaches young actors the basic techniques and responsibilities of being in a play. Each 8-week session culminates in a Sharing Day production for family and friends. Register for both sessions. There's always something new to learn!
Session 1: "The Secret Garden" - 8 wks begins August 31 thru October 19.
Session 2: "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" - 8 wks begins October 26 thru December 14.

It's Curtain Time! (ages 6-8)
Are you curious about the theatre? Come find out how FAA gets ready for the curtain to rise! During this introductory theatre class, students prepare to see FAA’s holiday production of "Annie" by learning scenes, songs and choreography from the show. This class also gives students a backstage glimpse of how a show goes from rehearsal to curtain time. Class includes two ticket vouchers (for adult ticket & children’s ticket) that can be redeemed to see "Annie" at Fine Arts (Nov. 26-Dec. 19).

Wee Wizard of Oz (ages 6-8)
Follow the yellow brick road as we join Dorothy, the Tin Man, Scarecrow, the Lion, Toto, Glinda and the Wicked Witch through several great Oz adventures. Through vocal exercises, theatre games, blocking, and character building, you’ll have more heart, brains and courage than you ever dreamed possible. Your family and friends will shout, "there is no place like home!" on Sharing Day.

You Be Scooby (ages 7-9)
Zoinks! In this fun theatre class, basic theatre skills like vocal projection, blocking, being in the moment and character development are taught. Through theatre games, students join Fred, Daphne, Velma, Shaggy and everybody’s favorite pooch, Scooby in the Mystery Machine and solve their own mysteries. Students share their Scooby inspired script with family and friends during Sharing Day on the last day of class!

Fun with Phineas & Ferb (ages 7-9)
Did you have fun ways to spend your summer vacation? Stick with this class ‘cuz Phineas and Ferb are gonna do it all! Feel like building a rocket? Or fighting a mummy? Or climbing up the Eiffel Tower? Discovering something that doesn’t exist (Hey!)? Or giving a monkey a shower? This is the acting class for you as we join our favorite characters from Phineas and Ferb on wild misadventures! We’ll also work on basic acting skills like vocal projection, movement, diction and pronunciation. Your family and friends will be amazed by your talents on our final Sharing Day production!

Dr. Seuss, Mother Goose & Everything in Between: Performance Poetry! (ages 7-9) Choose one session.
Memorize and perform favorite poems from dramatic to comic to tongue-twisters to the silly verses of childhood. Student-actors will learn diction, projection and emoting by performing timeless and beautiful poetry and verse individually and in the group. Invite family and friends to a special Share Day performance during the last class. Sign up for one or both! New material each session.

Scene Study (ages 9-11)
Looking for growth and a challenge as a young actor/actress? Then this class is for you! With a focus on dialogue, blocking, character development and interactions with other actors/actresses, this class immerses you in a variety of scenes. Class culminates in a Share Day performance for family and friends.

Silly Shenanigans (ages 9-11)
If you are a Shel Silverstein fan or you just love acting wickedly silly, this class is for you. In this theatre class, you BECOME the caricatures that Shel creates in his off-the-wall, slyly giddy mind. Leave your everyday ordinary humdrum lives at home and step into the skins of wildly imaginative, cunningly clever, vivacious characters. Character development, monologue preparation and auditioning skills are emphasized. Class culminates in a Share Day performance for family and friends.

All About Acting! (ages 9-11)
Have you been bitten by the acting bug? If you have had some acting experience and are hungry for more, this class will help you take your skills to the next level. Students learn how to create characters by working on scenes and monologues and play fun theatre improv games too!

Without a Net - Theatre Improv (ages 11-14)
Do you love shows like "Whose Line is it Anyway?" Explore the exciting world of theatre improvisation, where we make up the scenes as we go along and anything goes! Students learn how to create instant scenes and stories that stretch the imagination and boost confidence on stage. The final class is an "improv show" Sharing Day for family and friends.

Musical Theatre Showcase (ages 11-14)
If you like to perform, then this class is for you! Musical Theatre Showcase combines singing, acting, script writing, improv and stage movement to create a unique show that allows everyone the chance to shine. Each student focuses on their own song and character while working with classmates to create ensemble scenes that to be featured in a showcase style performance for family and friends on the last night of class.

Bound for Broadway (ages 12-18)
Especially designed for advanced theatre students, this in-depth study of acting techniques will challenge you. Students learn about the craft of theatre through vocal and movement exercises, character development, improvisation and scene study. Professionalism and collaboration are stressed in this class for the serious actor. Consistent attendance is expected and all students are required to participate in a final showcase for family and friends on Sharing Day.
