Kimberly Koljat, MA, LIMFT-S, RPT-S, RDT (Registered Play Therapist Supervisor and Registered Drama Therapist) grew up in the area and worked professionally in theatre for fifteen years, including performing at Playhouse Square in the original cast of Tony ‘n Tina’s Wedding, Great Lakes Theatre Festival (A Christmas Carol and Othello), Kalliope Stage (Coming to America, Cabaret, A Little Night Music), and Near West Theatre (Evita, Candide, The King and I). She graduated from Baldwin Wallace University’s Musical Theatre Program and moved to California to attend the California Institute of Integral Studies (MA Counseling Psychology Drama Therapy). Kimberly has facilitated Drama Therapy in multiple settings, including community mental health, schools, end-of-life care, skilled nursing units, domestic violence shelters, preschools, residential treatment facilities, and her private practice. She has focused most of her work on children ages 3-12 and their families, working in trauma-informed systems, and addressing systemic inequities, and providing support as a school-based drama therapist, early childhood mental health consultant, clinical supervisor, associate director, and director of clinical services. She maintains a private practice in Ohio and California, an adjunct faculty member in the Drama Therapy master’s program at CIIS, and is co-facilitator of I-West, the largest training institute in the US for Developmental Transformations.
