Frequently Asked Questions

We will continue to monitor COVID-19 guidelines and work closely with the Lake County General Health District to make necessary adjustments as we all work together to move toward a sense of normalcy. As you know, our number one priority is to provide a safe environment where students can grow academically, socially and emotionally. Thank you for your continued support.

Answers to the questions below will be updated immediately as circumstances change.

General/Building Access

MASKS – Policy updates effective immediately

  • Students in elementary school should not have to wear masks at school
  • Masks do not need to be worn by vaccinated students (age 12+)
  • For unvaccinated, non-elementary students:
    • Masks should continue to be worn in classrooms as these students still likely transmit the virus as efficiently as adults
    • Masks do not need to be worn outdoors by these students unless in crowded outdoor settings
    • Masks do not need to be worn during active participation in indoor athletic activities (e.g. dance classes)

While we strongly encourage unvaccinated teens and adults to wear a mask while at FAA, we will be relying on the honor system and will not request vaccination status from our students, patrons, staff, or families. While masks will not be required for elementary-age students and vaccinated individuals, all students, patrons, families, and staff will-of course-have the option of wearing a mask. We will work to ensure all individuals respect others’ choices this summer.

We will also continue to encourage proper hygiene and have hand sanitizer available. Additionally, while our camps are available in-person only, many of our classes and lessons will continue to have a virtual option this summer.

Yes, there is time built in for sanitization. Faculty members will sanitize in between each class/lesson before the next class/lesson takes place. (examples include: wiping down ballet bars, piano keys, and other commonly touched surfaces).

All classrooms, dance studios, and music studios have been equipped with HEPA-grade air purification units. I additions, FAA has made efforts to maximize built in air circulation throughout the building.

FAA is no longer requiring temperature taking to enter the building. We will continue to provide sanitation at the entryway.

Unless directed otherwise by your instructor, all faculty and students will both enter and exit the building at the main entrance, located at the front of the building. 

Classes and Camps

In person classes and camps

Yes. In-person classes are taking place during the Summer Semester. 

Virtual classes and camps

Yes. Private music and most classes will still be available in a virtual format for those interested.

Over the phone: Call (440) 951-7500 x2 during business hours.

In-person: Stop into the Customer Service desk located at the front entrance.

Communication: An email will be sent to class registrants prior to the first day with directions and a link to the live session of the class. Throughout the session outside of the live class, students/parents will communicate with the instructor via email.

Live on Zoom: The time of the virtual class is the same time as the in person version of the class unless otherwise noted. Classrooms at FAA have the appropriate technology to stream the class live so that the student attending virtually is able to be present along with the other students who are attending class in person. Classes will not be recorded for later viewing to respect the privacy of students.

Yes. Masks are required whenever possible. Specific instructions will be sent to students once registered.
