SUMMER CAMPS

FAA has camps for everyone! There are camps for the littlest campers at age 3 through high school grads. 

Camps range from one week to six weeks long, both full-and half-day. 

Multi-Arts Camps

Preschool Multi-Arts Camp
Half-day for ages 3-5

Each week of camp brings NEW arts explorations in dance, music, and visual arts!

A Sharing Day program concludes each camp week on Fridays at 11:00 a.m. Session 1 Sharing Day will be in the Main Gallery. Campers should bring a water bottle and healthy snack for a mid-morning break. *No nut-based foods, please.

*Children must be potty-trained and ready to attend a program independently to attend this camp.

Two sessions are offered! Each week of camp offers new arts experiences! Register for both sessions and save 10%!

Tuition includes optional Before Camp Care from 8:00 a.m to 9:00 a.m. Camp officially begins each morning at 9:00 a.m. Campers should bring a packed lunch and water bottle daily (no nut-based foods, please). A Sharing Day program for family and friends concludes each camp week on Fridays at 2:00 p.m.

Visual Art Camps

  • On Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. from (dates TBD)
  • For grades K-3
  • Class #: VAS2191-C

If you love creating, making, and imagining, this camp is for you! Campers paint, draw, craft, work with clay and more. Campers learn creative art processes every day. Camp is conducted both indoors and outdoors on beautiful summer days. All supplies are included in the camp fee.  An optional Lunch Bunch is available for campers who are looking for a full-day camp experience, combining this camp with Theatre Arts Camp Jr. in the morning. Campers should bring a packed lunch and water bottle each day of camp if they are staying for Lunch Bunch.

Only 6 slots in this hands-on sewing camp (each student works individually on a machine!). Two to three projects will be completed by the end of the week. Tuition includes all materials and optional Before Camp Care from 8:00 a.m.-9:00 a.m. Camp officially starts at 9:00 a.m.

Theatre Camps

  • Theatre Arts Camp Jr. for grades K-3
  • Camp Director: Malinowski & FAA Faculty
    • From 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. 
    • On Tuesdays and Thursdays (dates TBD)
    • Class #: TS2191A-C
  • BROADWAY SHOWSTOPPERS!
    • The campers are broken into three groups and rotate through different classes during their mornings at FAA.
    • They will have music, dance, art, and rehearsal each camp day. In this camp, your young performer will be introduced to some of the best group scenes and musical numbers from some of Broadway’s most popular hits. 
    • Using scenes and songs from Newsies, Annie, The Wizard of Oz, and more, your performer will be acting, singing, and dancing their way across the stage. They will also create marquee posters, props, and costume pieces during their art class. 
  • Campers will perform this musical theatre program at a ticketed performance on Monday and Tuesday, July 26 and 27, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. in the Corning Auditorium. 
  • Camp tuition includes:
    • Two (2) comp ticket vouchers to one of these  performances.
    • Optional supervised Before Camp Care from 8:00 a.m.-9:00 a.m.
    • and Lunch Bunch from noon-1:00 p.m. are included in the camp tuition. Camp starts officially each morning at 9:00 am and ends at noon.
    • Bonus! Each camper receives a special 2021 Camp T-shirt (cost is included in camp fee).
  • Campers should bring a packed lunch (no nut-based foods, please) and a water bottle each day of camp if they are staying for Lunch Bunch.
  • Lunch Bunch is perfect for those campers looking for a full-day camp experience, combining this camp with the afternoon Paper, Scissors, Rock Jr. camp, or All the Arts camp.

Please note: Due to the age of the students, this program requires active parent participation to assist children with learning a “script.”

  • Theatre Arts Camp for grades 3-12
  • Camp Director: Peck & FAA Faculty
    • From 9:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m. 
    • On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays (dates TBD)

  • This fun, interactive camp engages campers in the theatrical aspects of music, dance, theatre, and visual arts. Classes and rehearsals are designed as lessons in acting methods, dance techniques/ composition, and voice/music skills.

  • Camp culminates with a fully staged ticketed production the final weekend of camp with the script and songs tailored especially for the talents of the participating campers.

  • Campers will perform this musical theatre program at a ticketed performance in the Corning Auditorium on (dates TBD)

  • Camp tuition includes:

    • Two (2) comp ticket vouchers for a choice of one culminating performance.

    • Optional supervised Before Camp Care from 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. and After Camp Care from 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. are included in the camp tuition.

    • Bonus! Each camper also receives a special 2021 Camp T-shirt (cost included in camp fee).
  • Campers should bring a packed lunch (no nut-based foods, please) and a water bottle each day of camp. 

TAC Auditions

Students need to prepare a monologue and song of their choosing for their audition. The monologues listed below are for convenience to students registering/auditioning for Theatre Arts Camp. Students are not required to use one of the monologues below for their audition. Auditions for TAC begin TBD, 2022.

Young Actors Intensive Workshops
for ages 13-18

Have an audition coming up soon? Want to crush it? This workshop teaches actors how to find and choose audition monologues, acting techniques for staging, interpreting, and performing a monologue in an audition, and basic audition etiquette. Each student will leave the workshop with 2 contrasting monologues that are age and type appropriate.

In this fun workshop, students will have a blast playing improv games and learning improvisation skills and techniques. This intensive is for both newbies to theatre improv and actors with improv experience who are looking to hone their skills.

Every actor needs to have a strong foundation of craft and technique in order to be emotionally free on stage. This workshop teaches basic, concrete tricks of the trade to help both novice and experienced performers expand their skills.

How do actors create believable, relatable, and interesting characters from clues in the script? How do actors create characters when there is no script? In this intensive, you’ll learn techniques to breathe life into characters off the page AND discover the characters that live within your imagination.
