SUMMER 2020 CAMPS

Preschool Multi-Arts Camp
(Ages 3-5)

Camp begins at 9:30 a.m. and ends at 12:00 p.m. Each week of camp brings NEW arts explorations in dance, music, and visual arts! Art supply kits will be provided. Campers will present their work in a multi-faceted virtual presentation at the culmination of the camp.

Elementary Multi-Arts Camp
(Grades K-5)

Camp begins at 10:00 a.m. and ends at 3:00 p.m.with an hour lunch break at noon. Each week of camp brings a new theme, show, and arts explorations in dance, theatre, music, and visual arts. Art supply kits will be provided. Campers will present their work in a multi-faceted virtual presentation at the culmination of the camp.

Six Week Summer Camps

Visual Arts Camp
(Grades K-3 and 4-8)

Know a 5-9 year old child who loves to create? Give these artists everything they need to inspire imagination this summer! Kindergarten-3rd grade students will be so excited to open up 6 weeks of Creativity Boxes filled with new artistic tools and fun supplies! Students will receive one box per week containing EVERYTHING he/she needs to make an amazing artistic creation, sure to wow anyone who sees it. Students will craft, construct, paint, draw, grow, and sculpt!

Creativity boxes include fully illustrated and/or photographed instruction guides with detailed text for each step. Children can take their boxes anywhere to work on them and no technology is needed for this camp. Projects encourage individual creativity so the artist’s style can shine through! Class is completely flexible and students create when the timing is right for them.

Materials will be boxed and available for pick-up on an assigned day in the entryway foyer to The Fine Arts Association. 

Surprise a 9-14 year old artist in your list with 6 weeks of Boredom Busting Creativity Boxes filled with exciting and engaging supplies! Young Actors Intensive Workshops
Full Day
(Grades 9-12 & high school grads)

Register your student for all four Young Actors Intensive sessions and save 10%! Note: Each student must sign up for all four sessions to receive discount.

  • All Actors Intensive camps are from 1:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m.
  • Scene Study students will improve on acting skills by working on scenes from plays to learn how to use the script as a road map to discover characters and their actions.
  • Monologue Audition Prep teaches actors how to find and choose audition monologues, acting techniques for staging, interpreting and performing a monologue in an audition, and basic audition etiquette. Each student will leave the workshop with two contrasting monologues.
  • Short Form Improv students will have a blast playing improv games and learning improvisation skills and techniques. This intensive is for both newbies to theatre improv and actors with improv experience who are looking to hone their skills. 
  • The Actors Craft builds a strong foundation of craft and technique in order to be emotionally free on stage. This workshop teaches basic, concrete tricks of the trade to help both novice and experienced performers expand their skills.

Theatre Arts Camp (TAC)
(Grades K-3 Half Day) (Grades 3-12 Full Day)

 
  • Theatre Arts Camp Jr. from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, students will learn how to create, write, costume, and perform their own stories. Students will explore their wide range of emotions to create and share a fictionalized story based on the emotions that they contend with every day. They will create artwork that they can wear and display. Campers will be divided by age, into three groups. Each day, they will have a rotation of classes in Visual Arts, Writing/Crafting, and Rehearsal. All classes will be held on the Zoom Platform. All class sessions will be recorded and will  be sent out as the camp deems necessary. The Final Performance will be a scheduled Zoom session. We are able to accommodate 100 participants, including staff and campers, for this performance. The Performance will also be recorded so that you can share with family and friends. 
 
  • Theatre Arts Camp from 9:30 a.m. -3:00 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays is a six week, hands-on theatre experience for the aspiring young actor in which they will study acting, dance, and musical theatre in intensive classes while also rehearsing and presenting a full, original musical production specifically written for them. Every year, more than 70 area students join FAA for this fun musical theatre experience! Classes will meet via Zoom from 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. with breaks in between; 2:30-3:00 p.m. will be used for special guests and all staff rehearsals. Campers will not be logged into any meetings during lunch/recess from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Campers will present their show in a multi-virtual performance on July 24-26.

SUMMER 2020 CLASSES

Music Classes

Infant-Age 5 (with accompanying adult)

This class begins at 10:30 a.m. and ends at 11:00 a.m. Designed for young children of ALL abilities! Bounce, wiggle, sing, and have fun with your munchkin. This class engages you and your child in singing, playing instruments, and movement experiences while encouraging bonding, stimulating the senses, promoting learning, and creating opportunities for socialization. 

Private Music Instruction

The Fine Arts Association offers private music instruction for preschoolers through senior citizens! During the pandemic, FAA will be offering Private Lessons from home! Please fill out a form here to begin

Dance Classes

The Fine Arts Association’s dance program allows students to enter at any level and/or style appropriate to both ability and age. Students new to Fine Arts with previous study in dance will be scheduled for a placement assessment by appointment with a dance faculty member. Students are evaluated annually to continue proper placement in a challenging class setting. 

Please note: Ages are approximate guidelines. Students are placed in class based on experience and current ability.

  • Parents/guardians of preschool-age students (below kindergarten age) are requested to stay onsite during classes. 
  • Please be in proximity to the classroom space in order to assist your child with toileting needs and/or need of additional support. 
  • Please note: ages are approximate guidelines. Students are placed in class based on experience and current ability.
  • Pre Ballet/Tap I from June 20-August 1 with Miss Bea will be on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m.-9:45 a.m
  • (1) Pre Ballet/Tap II from June 16-July 21 will be on Tuesdays from 5:00 p.m.-5:45 p.m.
  • (2) Pre Ballet/Tap II from June 16-July 21 will be on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m.-10:45 a.m.
  • (3) Pre Ballet/Tap II from June 20-August 1 will be on Saturdays from 11:00 a.m.-11:45 a.m.

FAA has camps for everyone who loves the arts! There are camps for the littlest campers at age 3 through high school grads. Camps range from one week to six weeks long, both full-and half-day.

Private lessons and individual classes are also offered in the summer in each of our core programs.
