Programs & Workshops at The Fine Arts Association



Self care and self-expression are important now more than ever! FAA is offering a unique array of creative art therapy sessions and workshops for not only individuals with disabilities, but for their caregivers as well! All offerings are lead by a credentialed music/art therapist. Before exploring the offerings below, please review the “Arts Instruction” key here indicating the differences between hybrid, in-person, and virtual instruction with FAA. If you are a new student, please look for a welcoming message from Associate Director of Creative Arts Therapies, Ann Marie Raddell, prior to the start date of the class.

Arts Instruction Key:

Hybrid= Choose between 1.) Joining the class virtually, where you will join the in-person class live via Zoom from anywhere or 2.) Attending the in-person class at FAA where the virtual students are present as well on a big screen during the class. 

 In-person= The class is in-person only at limited capacity to ensure socially distanced seating.

Virtual= The class is virtual only and will take place live via Zoom. 


Adapted Dance
for ages 12+

With Danielle Musat, MT-BC, and Rose Lesak (hybrid or in-person)
Six-week section on Mondays from 4:15 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. from April 19 to May 24 for ages 12+.

Move your body, express yourself, and try something different in this fun-filled dance and music class! Miss Danni and Miss Rose will help you to move with the music and experience dancing in a new way!

This class is available both in-person and live, virtually.

for ages 13+

With Becca Bankert, MT-BC

Four week session on Mondays: March 15, March 22, March 29, and April 12 from 7:30 p.m. to 8:15 p.m.for ages 13+.

Learn and practice basic elements of songwriting. Participants will engage in group songwriting, lyric analysis, and song sharing. Individuals will also have the opportunity to write your own song, with feedback and assistance from Miss Becca and classmates! All levels of experience are welcome!

Social Group
for Caregivers of those with Alzheimer's Disease or Dementia

With Laurén Skillicorn AT, LPC

Four week session on Saturdays from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. from April 24th to May 15th for adult caregivers of those with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia.  

Connect with individuals caring for loved ones with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias while tapping into self-care through the use of art making.  Projects include utilizing collage Materials and paint.

Mom and Me Social Group
for Children with Disabilities and their Caregiver

With Ann Marie Raddell, MT-BC, NICU MT

Three week session on Mondays from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. from March 15 to March 29, 2021 for children (birth to age 5) with disabilities and their caregiver.

Designed for young children of ALL abilities! Bounce, wiggle, sing and have fun with your munchkin. This class engages you and your child in singing, playing, instruments, and movement experiences while encouraging bonding, stimulating the senses, promoting learning and creating opportunities for socialization. Caregivers will have an opportunity to connect with other caregivers during each session.

Art Therapy for Relaxation
Ages 18+

With Sara Wasserman, MA, ATR, LPC

Four-week session on Tuesdays from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. from March 9th to March 30th for adults 18+. All abilities welcome!

Here is a chance for something exciting to come out of the time we are spending at home. This one hour class offers an opportunity to create simple or elaborate art expressions. Using a combination of guided visualization, templates, and prompts, you will render images that bring relaxation and a sense of calm and peace. No experience required. Simple art materials will be used including markers, crayons, and watercolors.

Art Therapy Workshop
for Adult Caregivers

With Diane Meros, MA, ATR-BC, ATCS

One day workshop on Thursday, February 4, 2021 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. for adult caregivers.

The caregivers for those with disabilities are invited to a relaxing evening of self-care and love. Come make heart shaped soap infused with essential oils, create connections with other caregivers, and enjoy the fun!

Nursery Rhyme Time & Nursery Rhyme Time ONLINE

Teachers: Sexstella & Raddell
From 10/26/2020 to 11/16/2020 on Mondays from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. for ages 2-4.
Little ones with a caregiver explore nursery rhymes through music and art experiences. Class includes one-half hour of art and one-half hour of music each week.

From 10/26/2020 to 11/16/2020 on Mondays from 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. EDT for ages 2-5.

Nursery Rhyme Time Online Edition offers uplifting fun. Together with your 2-5 year old, in the comfort of your own home, get engaged with music and art experiences led by Ann Marie Raddell MT-BC, NICU MT and Melissa Sexstella. You can choose to participate in the music portion Live or if that time doesn’t work for you, watch the recording at your own convenience. Art projects are accessible at any time and use recycled and common supplies so you can participate when the timing is perfect for your family’s needs. Nursery Rhyme Time is themed each week to match beloved nursery rhymes and features felt play that focuses on early childhood skills like counting and colors.


NEOEA Day Camp is on Friday October 8, 2021 from 8:00 a.m. to  3:00 p.m. for ages 5-13.
Is school out? Bring the kids to Fine Arts to explore dance, music, visual arts and theatre. All arts supplies are included in the camp fee. Campers shold bring a packed lunch and a water bottle. FYI! Before Camp Care is INCLUDED in camp tuition! Drop off your camper anytime between 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 am. Before Camp Care includes supervised, quiet time activities (games, drawing, etc.) Camp day officially begins at 9:00 am. There are NEW activities with each All the Arts Camp, so register for BOTH!

Family Ties Homeschool Program

Family Ties Homeschool Program "Think Spring!"

The Family Ties Home School Program provides enriching, hands-on arts experiences designed specifically for home schooled students ages 5-13.

  • Family Ties Spring 2021 “Think Spring!” The Family Ties Homeschool Program provides enriching, hands-on art experiences designed specifically for homeschooled students ages 5-13. Students are divided into two age groups: lower school (LS) and upper school (US). Caring, experienced faculty guide students through hands-on experiences in visual arts, theatre, music and dance classes. Students share what they have learned with family and friends when they gather for a celebration of the arts at the close of each session. The program’s curriculum is aligned with the Ohio Department of Education’s Academic Content Standards in Fine Arts.
  • Sharing Day Performance is on Monday, May 10, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. in the Corning Auditorium.
  • Mondays from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for ages 5-13
  • 1/25/2021 – 05/10/2021

Daily Schedule:

  • Students rotate through four 55-minute classes in visual arts, theatre, music and dance.
  • All students meet for lunch and outdoor time from Noon-1:00 pm.
  • Students should bring their own bag lunch.
