Children will build their skills with an extensive variety of drawing and painting tools and supplies. Students explore in a creative environment while learning techniques and strategies.

This class utilizes a studio atmosphere and a variety of drawing media, featuring pen and ink, graphite, charcoal, colored pencil, and more.

Are you an early bird? Bring your coffee, rise and shine, and paint with acrylic! Students provide their own supplies. 

This class will have artwork featured in our student show at the end of the Spring Semester. 

Bring a cup of coffee and start your day off right! Learn expert techniques and get answers to all of your painting questions. Laugh and chat while you create a unique acrylic painting you will be proud to show off. Students provide their own supplies for this class. Any brand of art supplies is welcome. If you already have any of these supplies, there is no need to buy new ones.

Please Bring:

– A photo or image you are interested in using as inspiration for your painting

– An 11×14″ canvas

– The following acrylic paint colors: Cerulean Blue, White, Ultramarine Blue, Violet, Burnt Sienna, Sap Green, Viridian, Red, Paynes Gray, Any color orange, Any dark yellow (darker than lemon yellow)

– An assortment of paintbrushes: ½” flat, 1” flat, ½” filbert, a fine brush for details, ¼” flat, #6 round (make sure they say “for acrylic paint” in the description). If you have additional paintbrushes, feel free to bring them.

  • Kneaded eraser
  • Something to use as a palette

      • No, we are not painting with coffee; yet, coffee is served as we enjoy the morning painting in acrylics. Bring your own ideas and a canvas. The rest will be supplied!
