Elyse Eveland is originally from Beavercreek, Ohio and recently got married and moved to the Cleveland area. From a young age, Elyse has had a love of performing. She knew she had found her niche when she was chosen to sing the National Anthem at the Dayton Dragons game at the age of 9 and has took private voice lessons all the way through college. While attending Beavercreek High School, Elyse was heavily involved in the choral program and she performed in middle and high school show choirs for 7 years. Elyse was cast in The Mystery of Edwin Drood, High School Musical and Mamma Mia, while attending BHS. When Elyse was a member of the award winning Friends Show Choir, she was fortunate enough to be selected as the ballad soloist both her junior and senior years. During her 7 years in show choir Elyse was awarded both Best Female Vocalist and Best Performer. During her four years at BHS, Elyse participated in OMEA solo and ensemble and every year received a superior rating. During her time at BHS, Elyse was awarded Most Improved Musician her sophomore year and went on to earn the National School Choral Award her senior year, which is the highest honor for high school choral performers and given to a select two people in the choir department.
After high school Elyse knew she wanted to continue her musical studies at WSU’s School of Music and major in Music Education. While attending WSU she studied voice privately all 4 years and was a member of Women’s Choir as well as Collegiate Chorale, which is the most selective choir at WSU. In Spring 2022, Elyse was chosen to be a lead in the opera Hansel and Gretel playing the part of the mother. Also in Spring 2022, Elyse performed a solo at WSU’s Arts Gala and performed a Junior Recital. In winter of 2022 to complete her Music Education degree, Elyse performed a senior recital.
Before moving to Cleveland, Elyse started a private vocal studio in 2021 where she had the privilege of giving private lessons to over 20 students, ranging from ages 8-18. Elyse has sang the National anthem at Cleveland Guardians’ game and in her free time, Elyse loves to serve on her worship team at Neo Church. Elyse will be starting her first year teaching in Cleveland Metropolitan School district as a 4-8 music teacher. In the short amount of time she has lived here, Elyse has fallen in love with the Cleveland area and is excited to join the FAA community!
